For my Subject Matter Expert interview I had the pleasure of speaking with Waverly Jones, one of the owners and founders of Empyrean Arts in downtown Asheville. Waverly has a long and eclectic history in the world of circus arts and I loved having the opportunity to pick her brain on the topic of being a studio owner and the strategies she’s used through hard times and good to ensure the success of Empyrean Arts.

An Interview With Steve Sommerville, Owner of Ocean South Imports and Chapel of Bones
For my subject matter expert interview, I spoke with Steve Sommerville, the owner of Chapel of Bones, a heavy metal music venue, bar and coffee shop, and South Ocean Imports. I’ve been fortunate in knowing Steve through the metal scene in Eastern North Carolina, as he’s one of the first folks to give me a shot when I first started Buzzkill. He’s an awesome guy who sticks his neck out to help anyone out, and something of an aspirational mentor. Thanks Steve!
