Phyllis Coffee has had a successful retail clothing and gift business on Oak Island. She shares some insights on how to run a successful business. Phyllis started out as an English teacher, photojournalist, fabric designer, and an artist (water colors). She was selling fabric designs to the previous owner, when she was given the opportunity to buy the business. Phyllis has maintained a year-round retail business in a resort area where many businesses have failed and others close their doors during the off-season.

Cardiair Geezus, CEO of Real Life Muzic, Fayetteville, NC.

Cardiair is a producer, writer, and songwriter of Hip Hop music.  I met Cardiair at a Poetry Slam, a poetry competition in Wilmington, NC.  Cardiair warmed up the audience reciting his original poetry.  In talking with him, I discovered that he has a Business Marketing degree and he’s an entrepreneur of a multimedia production company.  He started his business in his kitchen three years ago.  His website www.reallifemuzic.com introduces the company’s productions, staff, and artists.  I really enjoyed interviewing Cardiair.  He explains how he started out and gives practical advice about starting a business in the music industry.
