Noel Watts is an innovative, successful and compassionate entrepreneur. In collaboration with peers in the rehabilitation community, he began a social enterprise: a manufacturing business with a non-profit mission to employ disabled and disadvantaged citizens in western North Carolina. According to recent study by WCU, MARC “generated an estimated total economic impact in 2008 of $60.7 million in the 21-county region it serves.” In addition, MARC established a private health insurance plan which has successfully covered its employees for twelve years.
